PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing audio information for providing information for audio, which can be easily listened anytime and anywhere at a level matched to the listening level of a user. SOLUTION: A plurality of kinds of information for audio to be provided as audio signals to a telephone terminal 1 are stored on an information database 7 for audio together with a plurality of listening levels and in response to access from the telephone terminal 1 through a communication network 30, according to information selection information for audio inputted from the telephone terminal, the information database 7 for audio is retrieved. Then, the information for audio at the relevant listening level is acquired, this acquired information for audio at the listening level is converted to an audio signal by a voice response device 5, and this converted audio signal is returned through the communication network to the telephone terminal and listened by the telephone terminal.
