Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial method for initial conditioning sodium-sulfur cells providing a high efficiency of conditioning process, enabling the cells to be placed and electrically connected together by a robot, and providing the cells with low internal resistance. SOLUTION: The method for initial conditioning the sodium-sulfur cells 1 includes assembling the cells 1, collecting the number of cells 1 assembled, elevating their temperature within a heating furnace, and passing currents therethrough. To place the number of cells 1 assembled within one cage which is permeable to hot gas flow, at least a predetermined number of cells 1 connected in series with one another are arranged in a straight line to constitute a string 9. Predetermined gaps t1, t2 and t3 allowing circulation of hot gas flow are provided between the strings 9. |
