description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode for an alkaline secondary battery, capable of suppressing lowering of connection strength between a conductive base and a collecting terminal when producing a group of electrodes by spirally winding them with a separator interposed between the positive electrode and a negative electrode. SOLUTION: A conductive base, a high density area 14 formed along the longitudinal direction of the conductive base by compression, a strip-form collecting terminal 9 one end of which is fixed to the high density area 14, and a positive electrode mix 15 containing an active material, which is held by the conductive base with the high density area 14 excluded, are provided in this positive electrode for an alkaline secondary battery. Among those boundary lines between the area of the conductive base where the positive electrode mix 15 is held and the high density area 14, at least part of two boundary lines L crossing the longitudinal direction of the positive electrode 2 is inclined with respect to the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the positive electrode 2.
