description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operability by enabling correction of color matching accuracy in accordance with the use purpose of an operator. SOLUTION: In a printer, the electrostatic recording units 24-1 to 24-4 of YMCK (yellow, magenta, cyan and black) are arrayed in the recording paper feeding direction of a belt unit, and a latent image corresponding to image data is formed because an exposure device performs optical scanning for a rotating photoreceptive drum, and it is transferred on recording paper on a belt after being developed with the toner component of a different color. A color matching processing part 76 performs color matching processing including the color slippage correction and the density correction of a color image. The color matching processing part 76 is operated by an automatic color matching mode processing part 78 when a previously set condition is concluded in the set state of an automatic correction mode. The color matching processing part 76 is operated by a manual color matching mode processing part 80 when the manual color matching instruction operation of the operator is recognized in the set state of a non-correction mode.
