SOLUTION: The infrared detector is provided with a base 1 with leads 31 and 32, an insulating substrate 5 placed on the base with a wiring pattern H, a pyroelectric element 9 supported on the wiring pattern of the insulating substrate with supporters 81A and 82A and a cap 2 with a window 21 for incident infrared rays. The supporters are made of a solid metal wire at a melting temperature higher than the backing temperature of the wiring pattern. The bottoms and a part of the sides of the supporters are buried in the wiring pattern and stuck electrically and mechanically.
