Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion resistant coating film and a method for forming the coating film wherein the coating film is used as a clear coating film applied to finishing coating processes for automobiles or the like, shows excellent abrasion resistance and excellent properties at thermal cycle testing, and can maintain excellent surface appearance characteristics for a long time. SOLUTION: In this abrasion resistant coating film, there is formed a 1-20 μm thick clear coat as a surface layer comprising a cross-linked resin with a cross-linking density of 5×10-3-5×10-2 mol/cm3. Preferably, a 20-80 μm thick clear undercoat or solid coat comprising a cross-linked resin with a cross-linking density of 5×10-4-5×10-3 mol/cm3 is formed under the clear coat.
