SOLUTION: The ink jet printer 1 detects the external shape of a sheet 10 set on a sheet table 11 through a photosensor 15 and transmits sheet information indicative of the detected external shape of the sheet 10 to an information processor. Consequently, sheet size information can be registered easily in the information processor.
