PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an exact image by taking horizontal synchronization with image exposure timing to photosensitive material by an exposure means. SOLUTION: This image exposure device 100 is equipped with: an image output means 103 for successively and serially outputting image data of a plurality of lines in every specified cycle by one line; a beam exposure means 150 allowing modulated light obtained by modulating a light beam from a light source for exposure 14 in accordance with the image data to scan through a polygon mirror 118 rotated by a motor 323 driven to be rotated when a driving pulse is supplied; a start signal generating means 117 for detecting the rotation reference position of the mirror 118 and outputting it as a start signal; and a counter 327 for counting the driving pulse. The image output means 103 outputs the image data of the first line in synchronization with the specified driving pulse after receiving the start signal and outputs the image data of the second and succeeding lines every time the counter 327 counts the specified number of driving pulses.
