Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cool storing material consisting of oxide ceramics having large specific heat at liquid helium temperature or lower and enhanced in refrig erating capacity at very low temperature, and a method for manufacturing the cool storing material consisting of oxide ceramics. SOLUTION: This cool storing material is a bead-shaped polycrystalline sintered compact obtained by compacting and sintering the multiple oxide RXAl2-XO3 (wherein R is a rare earth element) of a rare earth metal and aluminum slightly excessive in aluminum content. The main structure in the bed of the cool storing material is RAlO3 of perovskite-state. Alumina and garnet are uniformly dispersed in the structure of perovskite.
