description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems such that a stone material is treated with permeative water absorption preventing agent, for wind drying left in a room for not a few days, because almost stone material imported was exposed to rain or dew on the way of transportation, this needs large space and long delivery time, otherwise drying by electric heater or infrared ray heater is sometimes executed, but in this case uniform heating is hardly expected and also a large amount of energy consumption is needed. SOLUTION: At first, the stone is dried under the atmospheric pressure of <=0.04 Mpa, while keeping the temperature at the water boiling temperature or higher at the atmospheric pressure. Then, the stone material is placed in a closed vessel together with osmotic water absorption preventing agent to impregnate it into the material while keeping the temperature at a boiling point of a solvent of the osmotic water absorption preventing agent or lower, under the pressure of <=0.08 Mpa.
