REAR WHEEL STEERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an electric power consumption when a vehicle is stopped, and allow an operation to be confirmed. SOLUTION: This steering device is provided with an electric motor 4 for driving a rear wheel gear box to steer rear wheels, a vehicle speed detecting means (vehicle speed sensor) SPS for detecting a vehicle speed, an actual steering angle detecting means (steering stroke sensor) 33 for detecting an actual steering angle of the rear wheels, and a control means (electronic controller) 3 for setting a target steering angle θr of the rear wheels based on a traveling condition of the vehicle and for controlling driving of the motor 4 to bring the actual steering angle into the target steering angle θr. The control means 3 stops the driving of the motor 4 when the vehicle speed is a prescribed speed or less and when the actual steering angle is not varied.
