SOLUTION: In this power steering device, an electric motor 1 for generating steering-assisting torque is provided with a current supplying device 3 for supplying a current in response to a steering signal such as steering torque or a vehicle speed, and a current flow limiting device 4 for limiting a carriable current in response to an exciting current and for reducing the exciting current in response to the steering torque, so as to supply the steering-assisting torque to a steering mechanism 2 by the motor 1.
