WHITE LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white-light emitting display device which prevents partial color unevenness of a diffuse light emitting portion by effectively utilizing an effective luminous portion of cold-cathode discharge tubes. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises a case 2 having a opening 2a, a diffuse light emitting portion 3 disposed at the opening 2a of the case 2, cold-cathode discharge tubes 4 which are at least two in number and supported in the case 2 and provided with an effective luminous portion 6 except at end portions 4a where electrodes are supported. In the case 2, a reflector 7 is disposed which is capable of reflecting a light L from the cold-cathode discharge tubes 4, the full length of effective luminous portion 6 of the tubes 4 is longer than the width of the opening 2a of the case 2, and the reflector 7 is disposed below a center axis line 4b of the tubes 4.
