METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING REFUSE BY SUPERHEATED STEAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for treating refuse by superheated steam without generating dioxins. SOLUTION: A refuse treatment chamber 1 and a heat accumulation tank 20 are provided and the heat accumulation tank 20 is equipped with an electric heater 21 for heating a heat accumulation material 23 and a heat transfer pipe 22 heated by the heat accumulation material and a water supply part 5 of superheated steam S is connected to the inlet of the heat transfer pipe while the refuse treatment chamber is connected to the outlet thereof and the water supply part is equipped with a water supply tank 6 and the water sending pump 7 to the heat transfer pipe. The heat accumulation tank heats water supplied to the heat transfer pipe to generate superheated steam to send the same to the refuse treatment chamber and the refuse treatment chamber has an superheated steam sending-out port 11 provided to the upper part thereof and an exhaust passage 2 of mixed gas H consisting of steam S1 after heating lowered in its temperature by the heating of refuse D and a volatile component (h) generated from refuse is provided to the lower part of the refuse treatment chamber and a refuse thermometer 3 is provided to the refuse treatment chamber and an exhaust gas thermometer 4 is provided to the exhaust passage and superheated steam is guided to the exhaust passage from the sending port to heat the refuse.
