Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fermentation treating device which is simple in device constitution, easily applicable to a small-scale composting treatment and makes it possible to obtain high-quality compost by suppressing the granulation of sludge and a fermentation treating method using the same. SOLUTION: This fermentation treating device 10 has a fermentation tank 22 which has a feeding port 24 for feeding the sludge and a discharge port 32 for discharging the treated matter subjected to fermentation treatment and a returning means 36 for taking part of the treated matter which exists on the discharge port 32 side of the fermentation tank 22, then the feeding the same to the feeding port 24 side of the fermentation tank 22.
