In the case that the telephone number of an owner of the jack is not automatically transferred by way of an incoming calling line identifier(ICLID), a user of the UMS is prompted by the server to provide its directory. Then the server informs a home wired exchange about the transfer of all incoming calls addressed to the telephone number of the UMS to the telephone number of a possessor of the jack into which the UMS is plugged. When an MS is not plugged into a jack, the UMS automatically acts like a wireless MS.
