Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preservative for cosmetic having an enough growth- inhibiting effect against various microorganisms, and therefore capable of increasing storage stability of the cosmetic, not giving such a problem that the skin is irritated, and further having high safety, and to provide a cosmetic not giving the above problem that the skin is irritated, having high safety and excellent in the storage stability. SOLUTION: This preservative for cosmetic contains -polylysine or its salt as an active ingredient. The cosmetic contains the preservative.
