Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve a carriage transfer accuracy and record high- quality images in a serial recording apparatus constituted to increase/decrease a breadth by being expanded/shrunken in a move direction of the carriage loading a recording head. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a wire 5 fixed to the carriage, a carriage motor 3 for driving the wire 5, a driving shaft 4 set rotatably to the carriage motor 3 and a driven shaft 6 driven to rotate via the wire 5. An adjusting shaft 7 is set between the driving shaft 4 and the driven shaft 6, which relatively changes a positional relationship to both shafts.
