DOOR OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operator's discomfort when he or she operates a door opening/closing device having an actuator which imparts an assisting force to the operator's door opening or closing operation. SOLUTION: Operating switches SW1-SW4 each comprise an on/off switch to detect door opening and closing operations. A torque sensor 16 detects the magnitude of an operating force working on a door and detects whether the operating force is working in the opening or closing direction of the door. When the torque sensor 16 detects that the magnitude of the operating force is equal to or greater than a predetermined value while the operation detecting switches SW1-SW4 are detecting the door opening or closing operation, a controller 28 controls an actuator 6 so that an assisting force is imparted in the direction of application of the operating force according to the detection by the torque sensor 16, and so that the assisting force is varied depending on the magnitude of the operating force.
