PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a scanner device to be utilized as a handy scanner by being detached from a base device and to obtain an efficient mechanism capable of operating also as a self-traveling type in this case by attachably and detachably fitting at least the other part of a medium conveying mechanism and a reading part to/from the base device having one part of the medium conveying mechanism. SOLUTION: On both sides of a reading unit 1, a fulcrum shaft groove 18a, a lock pawl groove 20a and a deviation stopper 21a are respectively provided, so as to be attached to/detached from a printer unit and to be engaged firmly and held. On the side of a printer unit 3, a fulcrum shaft groove 18b, a lock pawl groove 20b and a deviation stopper 21b to be engaged with the components are respectively provided. The lower part of the fulcrum shaft groove 18a is opened, and the reading unit 1 is turned left from the attaching state inclined to the right raised into almost vertical state, and then brought upward, thereby easily detaching the unit 1.
