Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an internal combustion engine piston to improve joint strength between a piston head part and a skirt part divided and forging-molded by using a metal being the same kind as or a different kind from each other, and enlarge combination of joining metals. SOLUTION: The piston head part side of a piston consisting of a piston head part, having a ring belt, and a skit part having a pin hole 7 formed in a pin boss 6 is formed of a steel having excellent heat resistance, and the skirt part side is divided into at least two or more parts and forging-molded by using a metal of the same kind as or a different kind from that of the piston head part side. The division surfaces are brought into opposite contact with each other and integrally formed through solid phase joining by friction pressure contact.
