description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce data always in the best state by holding an equalizer control output at a proper value even when an optical disk drive for a CD-ROM, etc., is unable to obtain a normal signal from the optical disk owing to data absence, a kick, access, etc. SOLUTION: Data read out of an optical disk 1 through a pickup 2, a detector 3, etc., are equalized by an equalizer 5 and outputted as an RF signal. A speed counter 7 outputs linear speed information on the disk 1. An equalizer controller 8 generates an equalizer control output according to the linear speed information. The output is converted into an analog potential signal through an LPF(low-pass filter) 11 and the analog potential signal is fed back to the equalizer 5 and boosted to a specific frequency band of the RF signal. When a disk abnormality detecting device 9 detects abnormality of the readout data from the optical disk 1, an equalizer control output adjusting device 10 holds the data at the equalizer control signal value right before an abnormality notice signal is inputted.
