Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image display device which is suitable for a display device such as PDP and a micromirror device. SOLUTION: A moving vector detection part 7 detects a moving vector MV needed for a movement compensating process from an input image signal S1. An MCIP part 1 generates an interpolation signal through the movement compensating process using a movement compensating vector MV1 generated by a moving vector conversion part 8 through converting operation and converts it into a line-sequential image signal S2. An MCFRC part 2 generates an interpolating frame signal by the movement compensating process with a movement compensating vector MV2 generated by a moving vector conversion part 9 and converts it into an image signal S3 of the same frame frequency as the frame frequency of the display device. An MC correction part 5 performs a signal process for moving picture false outline disturbance suppression of movement compensation with a movement compensating vector MV3 generated by a moving vector conversion part 10 and converts it into a display image signal S6. Then the image is displayed at a display device part 6 such as PDP and a micromirror device.
