REPRODUCING DEVICE FOR DIFFERENT DIAMETER DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily convert a reproducing device into the one only for a large diameter disk by providing a first and a second detecting member for detecting the centering of a large and a small diameter disk respectively and also providing a freely attachable/detachable adapter having a retreating mechanism by which the second detecting member is transferred to a position where the large diameter disk is undetectable when inserted. SOLUTION: An engaging hole 2 is made on the upper face 1A of the main chassis 1, an arm bracket 3 for the combined use for 8/12 CD as a freely attachable/detachable adapter is arranged at the engaging hole 2. On the bottom face 1B of the chassis, a CD detecting arm 12 which is a first detecting member for detecting the centering of a 12 CD is installed. On the lower face side of the arm bracket 3 for the combined use for 8/12 CD, an 8 CD detecting arm 37 is installed as a second detecting member for detecting the centering of an 8 CD. Then, when a 12 CD is inserted, the 8 CD detecting arm 37 retreats to a position where the 12 CD is undetectable, by means of a centering arm L, R33, 34 as a retreating mechanism.
