description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To melt snow even at heavy snowfall time, and to renew reduced snow melting capacity by arranging a valve group in a starting end side piping part and a tail end side piping part, and opening/closing the valve group according to snow melting and device cleaning. SOLUTION: A snow melting piping part 2 is laid between a starting end side heat collecting device 1 and a tail end side heat collecting device 11, and a starting end side piping part 3, a tail end side piping part 4 and a bypass part 5 are arranged to constitute a convection circulating snow melting device. In this device, a valve group is arranged in the starting end side piping part 3 and the tail end side piping part 4 to be opened/closed according to respective ones in snow melting by natural convection, in snow melting by forced convection of a pump P, in snow melting by forced convection of a heat pump HP and the pump P, in cleaning by the pump P and in counterflow cleaning of the pump P. Thus, required snow melting can be performed even at heavy snowfall time, and the inside of the device reduced in snow melting efficiency is cleaned to renew snow melting capacity.
