SOLUTION: In the continuous annealing of the steel strip, when the steel strip advanced in the furnace is cooled, a plurality of lines of liquid spouting devices and gas jet spouting devices are alternately arranged in the advancing direction faced to the steel strip surface in the furnace, and the liquid film is formed by spraying the liquid onto the steel strip surface from the liquid spouting devices. Successively, the gas jet is blown onto this liquid film from the gas jet spouting devices to cool the steel strip.
