Zusammenfassung:	This invention relates to a pharmaceutical product. The pharmaceutical composition comprises alginic acid and/a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a metal compound selected from the group comprising Fe ammonium, Fe glycerophosphate, Fe lactate, reduced Fe and basic bismuth nitrate alums, alums of aluminium and potassium (alumopotash alum), aluminium hydroxide, kaolin, barium sulphate, calcium gluconate, calcium chloride, calcium carbonate or a mixture thereof with the following ratio between the components (% by weight): Alginic acid and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof 5-91 Metal compound the remainder. The composition finds various applications for the preventative and curative treatment of diseases of the gastroenteric tract, superficial skin wounds and burns and also has the capacity to act as a haemostatic agent.
