Production of images with high resolution on Jacquard woven fabrics. The original is scanned for colors with a video visual of the original with the largest number of colors for the visualizing system. The number of basic colors to reproduce the image are selected according to the warps (1) and wefts (2) in the weave. The start colors are reduced to a number which can be achieved by mixing the warp and weft colors To reproduce a high resolution image on Jacquard woven fabrics, pixel mixtures are used as the mix of selected basic colors, using pixels formed by the intersection of at least one warp and a weft. The conversion of the reduced colors of the reduced original to the number of selected basic colors uses a dithering process. The nuances of the reduced original are reproduced through the number of pixels in the selected basic colors. The breakdown of the reduced colors takes in a given warp/weft ratio. The weaving program uses an irregular weaving pattern without repeats. The warp/weft ratio is preferably 2:1. The reduced colors are formed from at least two basic colors, to form a color group. The start colors of the original are reduced to a maximum of 256 colors, to give up to 16 basic colors of red, green, blue and yellow or red, green, blue, yellow, black and white. The weaving program can give weft insertions in a constant sequence, in a consistent weaving pattern with repeats.
