Several hoses may be arranged in parallel and are interconnected by manifolds 16, 18, the latter manifold enabling recycling of liquid 8. Hot industrial waste water or a heat pump 20 supplies water at 25-45C to feed-tank 3 which maintains a low, 10 cm., head of water. The installation may be used in greenhouses and may be used for air-conditioning to cool during the day by using a valve system to by-pass the heat-pump and to heat during the night.
