Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Condensation products used for producing an antistatic finish on textiles (see Division D1), are prepared by reacting a water-soluble polyamine containing at least one polyethenoxy chain and at least two primary or secondary amine groups per molecule with a compound containing two or more acrylamido groups at temperatures up to 200 DEG C., preferably in presence of a solvent. Suitable water-soluble polyamines are those described and prepared in Specifications 797,175, 913,521, 919,727 and 930,881. Compounds used which contain acrylamide groups are methylene-bis-acrylamide and 1,3,5-trisacrylylhexahydro-s-triazine. Solvents specified include water, methanol, ethanol or b -ethoxyethanol. In addition, a compound which inhibit polymerization of the acrylamido compound may be used, e.g. a copper salt, hydroquinone, or N :N1-diphenyl-p-phenylene diamine. The examples describe (1) the preparation of a condensate from a 10% aqueous solution of a polyamine prepared from a polyoxyethylene glycol of average molecular weight 600 and diethylene triamine and an aqueous solution containing 2.5% of 1,3,5-trisacrylylhexahydro-s-triazine (2) preparation of a condensate from a 10% aqueous solution of a polyamine prepared from a polyoxyethylene glycol of average molecular weight 600 and N-(b -hydroxyethyl) ethylene diamine and an aqueous solution containing 2.5% of methylene bis-acrylamide. Specification 909,600 also is referred to.ALSO:Textiles such as nylon, polyacrylinitrile and polyethylene terephthalate fibre fabrics are rendered antistatic by treatment with a condensate of a water-soluble polyamine and a compound containing two or more acrylamido group. Suitable water soluble polyamines contain at least one polyethenomy chain and at least two primary or secondary amine groups and are described and prepared in Specifications 797,175, 913,521, 919,727, and 930,881. Specified compounds containing acrylamido groups are methylene-bis-acrylamide and 1, 3, 5-trisacrylyl-hexa-hydro-s-triazine. The fabrics are impregnated with a solution or dispersion of the reactive components in, for example water, aqueous ethanol methanol and b -hydroxy ethanol. The fabric is then dried at temperatures up to 70 DEG C. and subsequently heated at 80 DEG -210 DEG C. for 1-30 minutes. In Examples 5 and 6, nylon and polyethylene terephthalate fabrics are impregnated with aqueous ethanol solutions containing a polyamine prepared from diethylene triamine and a dichloride of a polyoxyethylene glycol
