description Fabrics consisting wholly or partly of cellulose fibres are padded in a solution containing (1) a resin forming composition known to be used for the production of textile materials having finishes resistant to creasing or shrinking or of modified handle, (2) an acid catalyst, (3) a reactive dyestuff and (4) as a migration inhibitor a homocyclic aromatic compound containing both alkyl and sulphonic acid groups, dried and baked. The migration inhibitor (4) may be a compound in which the alkyl and sulphonic acid groups are attached to a naphthalene nucleus and specifically may be triisopropyl-naphthalene sulphonic acid and butylated naphthalene sulphonic acid. Baking may be effected at 130-200 DEG C. Examples are given in which fabrics of cotton, linen and viscose rayon are dyed and treated. The first Provisional Specification contains additional subject matter which may also be found in Provisional Specification 888,905. Specifications 209,723, 246,817, 298,494, 460,224, 576,270, 587,636, 613,980, 733,471, 740,533, 772,030, 774,925, 775,308, 780,591, 781,930, 785,120, 785,222, 802,198, 805,562, 826,689, 838,335, 842,802, 852,604, 875,712, 904,227, 924,990, 927,404 and 929,425 also are referred to.
