In a pressure casting-apparatus, the material to be cast is held in an air-tight container having an opening into which there extends one end of a tube made of a frangible material, the other end of the tube being in communication with a mould into which the material to be cast is forced upwardly through the tube, by gaspressure in the container in which the tube is supported in an aperture in a top cover of the container by a mounting capable of adjustment so that the longitudinal axis of the tube may be maintained substantially normal to the surface of the molten metal in the container.
