Zusammenfassung: | 808,829. Mounts for aeronautical cameras; gyroscopic apparatus. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. May 9, 1950 [May 9, 1949], No. 12371/49. Classes 97(1), 97(3) and 98(1) A platform 11 on which, at 16, 17, are mounted two aerial photography cameras, is held steady or moved at a steady rate while an exposure is being made. The cameras are so arranged that weight distribution changes (e.g. film movement) are substantially cancelled by simultaneous use of the cameras and the centre of gravity of the platform remains at or over the Hooke's joint by which it is supported. The two gyroscopes 14, 15, are arranged with their spin axes fore-and-aft and athwartships respectively and one or both of them may be caused to process, as by a spring 33, during an exposure, to ensure a movement of the platform compensating for movement of the aircraft. After each exposure a cam 23 raises a circular plate 22 to "centralise" the platform 11 and to cage the gyroscopes by means of V-slots 29, 30 in members 25, 26, in readiness for the next exposure. |
