description 710,586. Nozzles. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. March 6, 1953 [March 13, 1952], No. 6510/52. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XI] A liquid fuel burner nozzle of the swirl type has an annular discharge orifice d and coaxial therewith a fuel inlet b both disposed at the same end of the nozzle, whereby the nozzle may be used in a gas turbine engine for discharging fuel upstream whilst being supplied with fuel through an axially disposed pipe. The fuel inlet b passes axially into a cylindrical part a and communicates through radial bores j in the latter with an annular space between the part a and a sleeve h screwed thereon to hold an intermediate annular part e on the part a. From said annular space the fuel passes through tangential passages k in the part e to a swirl chamber f to discharge through the orifice d. The latter is formed between the outer end of the part e and an annular ridge c on the part a.
