Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a vehicle door frame protection system. The system comprises a sensor 206 suitable for detecting the proximity of an object to a vehicle door frame 200; and a warning device that provides a warning, such as a noise (from speaker 210) or light (from lights 208), when the sensor 206 has detected that a distance between a detected object and the door frame is smaller than a threshold value. An inflatable element, such as an elongate tube, may be positioned on the top rim of the door frame 200, and may be inflated when the measured distance is smaller than the first threshold value, thus protecting a user's body from collision with the door frame 200. An actuator may be provided to deflate the inflatable element. Also provided is a vehicle door frame 200 comprising the door frame protection system.
