Two phase launcher mechanism

A toy vehicle launcher comprises a two phase launcher mechanism configured that during the first phase the launcher is activated and during the second phase the launcher is reset. The first and second phase are configured to be operated by a user via a single button 44; wherein the first phase is operated the first time the single button is pressed and the second phase is operated the second time the single button is pressed. The mechanism includes a launch pad 48 having a front plate 70 connected to a sprung rear support 76 and an elongate shaft 46 provided with two prongs with angled edges 66a. The rear sprung support 76 is provided with angled edges 76a. The angled edges 66a and 76a are configured to meet when the elongate shaft 46 is moved down following the pressing of the button 44 during the second phase causing the front plate to reset into a charged position. During the first phase the front plate to caused to propel forward launching a toy vehicle placed on the launch pad.
