Zusammenfassung: | A flooded evaporator 100 having a longitudinally extending shell 112 having a refrigerant inlet (22, fig. 1) at a bottom of the shell and first and second tube sheets 114 located at either end of the shell with plural tubes (14, fig. 1) extending therebetween. A suction duct 130 extends longitudinally through the shell and has a flow path and an area schedule 132 in fluid communication with the shell to receive refrigerant vapour and wherein the suction duct flow path is in fluid communication with the shell so as to provide an outlet on the shell for the suction duct. The area schedule includes openings which decrease in size toward the outlet 124. The area schedule may be located on top of the suction duct, possibly at an angle and the suction duct may extend the full length of the shell or only partially. The duct may be configured to service two compressors of a refrigeration system as part of a cooling circuit. |
