Interactive sessions

An information handling device receives an indication 301 to begin a first interactive session associated with a first context. During that session, an indication is received 302 to begin another interactive session associated with another context, and an output function associated with the latter session is performed 304 without ending the first session. The interactive sessions and indications may be verbal, and processed using speech recognition and language processing. Speech analysis may be used to determine the context of the session, and whether that context is associated with either interactive session, or whether the context is new and hence not associated with either interactive session. One embodiment is a digital assistant which detects a context switch within a multi-turn conversation and, in response, initiates another conversation, or other interactive function, in the different context. This embodiment provides a multi-threaded interactive session where multiple interactive sessions are provided simultaneously.
