Reconfiguring paths in a multiple path analog-to-digital converter

Zusammenfassung: | An analog input signal is applied to first and second paths each having an ADC (215a, b) to generate respective first and second digital signals in accordance with first and second analog gains (203a, b), and a digital output signal (107) is generated from one or both of the first and second digital signals based on a magnitude of the analog input signal. The first analog gain (203a) is set based on the magnitude of the analog input when the digital output signal is generated from the second digital signal. In embodiments, the second digital output signal may be filtered (229) based on an error (231) between the first and second digital signals, or corrected based on the first and second digital signals (fig.4, not shown), or may be based on a combination of the first and second digital signals (fig.6, not shown), or any combination of the above. The output signal may be gradually switched between the first and second digital signals using a weighted combination of the signals. |
