A breast pump with a handle having gripping portions

A breast pump assembly is provided, comprising: a funnel 7500, 8500 having a size and shape that allows for receiving of a breast; a flexible insert sealingly engageable with the funnel 7500, 8500 to define an air volume in fluid isolation from the breast, wherein the air volume is evacuated causing a vacuum to be applied to the breast; a holder 7700, 8700 connected to the funnel 7500, 8500 and having a base in proximity to a container, the holder 7700, 8700 having a handle 7730, 8700 with first a gripping surface 7725, 8726 on at least a portion thereof, the gripping surface 7725, 8726 being made from a material that facilitates gripping thereof; a container releasably connected to the holder 7700, 8700 and being in fluid communication with the holder 7700, 8700 and funnel 7500, 8500; and a pressure source in fluid communication with the funnel 7500, 8500 for supplying a vacuum to the funnel 7500, 8500 for pumping of the breast, the pressure source being separate from the handle.
