Zusammenfassung: | Lithium ion batteries are loaded into boxes and then pyrolysed at a temperature of at least 300 {C and then cut into pieces using a shredder. The cut pieces are dry screened, washed to remove foil from particulate matter and then wet screened to separate the foil from the particulate matter. The particulate material is rich in cobalt, nickel and/or manganese compounds, and also contains graphite. The particulate material is allowed to settle to form a sludge which can be collected by filtering, dried and then further processed (e.g. smelting) to obtain a pure transition metal. |
