Zusammenfassung:	A vehicle platform safety apparatus 10, comprising, a platform engaging member 16 engageable with an edge of the vehicle platform 12 and adapted for connection to a rigid bracing member 30, the rigid bracing member extending away from the edge of the platform and over an upwardly presented surface of the platform, the rigid bracing member being connectable to an opposing rigid bracing member extending from an opposite edge of the platform. Upright support members 50 are connected to the platform engaging members and allow guard members 80 to be located along the sides of the platform so as to help prevent a person from falling from the platform. The guard members 80 may include slidable members 60 so that they can be located at various heights on the support members 50.
