Typically, cake boards, cake cards or cake drums of the invention have a thickness of 4.75 mm to 25.4 mm and the shrink-wrap materials applied thereto have thicknesses of 10 microns to 150 microns. The invention also provides a method of manufacture for the novel cake board. The product of the invention is simpler and more economical to make and use when compared to the manifold products produced hitherto for the same purpose.
