Zusammenfassung:	A page holder 1 has a central region with a pre-determined weight per unit length and two end regions each with a greater weight per unit length. At least the central region is capable of flexing. The page holder may be formed from two super-imposed leather strips 2,3 which are secured together, for example by stitching 6,7, with metal masses 4,5 being sandwiched between the super-imposed layers at the end regions. The page holder may be placed upon an open book 9 to keep it open and to hold the pages in place.
