description 21,470. Chambers, W. H., and Yeadon, J. A. Oct. 24. Jigging conveyers.-In a conveyer for coal or the like in which the trough A, Fig. 1, is suspended by pairs of cscillating chains B from cross-bars C between supporting-props D, the effective radius of the chain is altered during its swing by its abutment on one or more striking-bars G, H which extend between the props parallel to the bars C. With the striking-bar G in use, the path cf the point of suspension would be along the curve F , G', and with the bar H only in use, it would he along the curve F, H . With both bars in use, the path is along the curve H , G . In the form shown in Fig. 3, the suspending-chain is arrested by diagonal chains H , G , each attached at one end to a beam P on the prop and at the other to a suitable link on the chain B. The rods C are slightly cranked at their ends near the props to keep the suspending-chains in position during operation.
