description 4581. Bryan, H., and Bryan, A. Feb. 29. Boots and shoes, cleaning and polishing. - A boot-polishing pad, which can be used for both black and brown boots &c., inasmuch as it does not gather up the paste, cream, &c., comprises a piece A of upholsterers' plush &c. to the sides of which are secured by sewing or other means two pieces B, B of cardboard &c. The plush extends beyond the ends of the pieces B, B', and between it and the pieces is placed a cardboard or like strip D, preferably longer and wider than the pieces, and packing U of vegetable down &c. A handle E of twisted wire, preferably electroplated or coppered, is secured by stitches F or other means to the piece D, and, being shorter than the piece, causes it 'to bend so that the plush is stretched tightly over the packing. The ends of the plush &c. are stitched to the handle, or to one or both of the pieces B, B', or to both the handle and the pieces.
