description 25,579. BlomÚn, A. L., and Ewerl÷f, P. S. Dec. 31, 1904, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Pneumatic.-Relates to air-guns having an airressrvoir and air-pump, and consists in a valve acted upon by a trigger device and adapted to close and open the passage 19 between the reservoir and barrel 1. In the example shown, the valve is retained in the closed position by the spring 11 acting upon the valve-stalk 7 and having its rear bearing against the sleeve 9, which slides upon the end of the stalk 7, a screw 10 being carried by the stalk to serve as a stop for the rearward movement of the sleeve 9 relatively to the stalk. The valve is closed by pushing the cap 17 of the sleeve 9 forward against the action of the spring 16 until the shoulder 12 of the sleeve is engaged by the trigger-operated pawl 14. When the sleeve 9 is released by pulling the trigger, the sleeve moves rearwardly and the valve spring 11 keeps the valve closed until the sleeve 9 engages the stop screw 10 and opens the valve suddenly. The valve opens when the pressure in the reservoir rises beyond a certain point.
