Zusammenfassung: | 5340. Gibbons, W. P., and Reed, E. A. March 14. Conveyers.-Relates to a tubular structure upon which the idler rollers of a travelling belt or band such as is employed for sorting purposes &c. may be supported so as to be adjustable in position. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the idler rollers are carried upon four longitudinal tubes 2, 3, 4, 5 by brackets made in two portions 6, 7, adjustably secured to the tubes by bolts 8. The lower tubes 4, 5 may be carried by pedestals 16 fixed to transverse supports 18. The upper tubes 2, 3 are carried upon the lower ones by upright tubes 20, which fit in sockets formed on brackets 23, 24 adjustably secured to the lower and upper tubes respectively. Guiding-rollers 34 may also be similarly mounted upon the structure. In modifications, the brackets may be formed with bosses for carrying more than one spindle or may be modified to carry troughing-rollers. The structure may also be arranged for carrying more than one band and so stiffened by trusses that it may be carried without intermediate supports, as in passing over a canal or roadway, or as a travelling crane. |
