Zusammenfassung: | 26,332. Gregory, F. L. Dec. 24. Punching. -Relates to an appliance for perforating sheets of metal &c. and turning back the punched portions to secure the sheets together, The plunger 12, supported in the casing 9 by the spring 14, carries a pyramidal piercing-die 15 surrounded by a movable stripper 18. The yielding platen 19 supported by the spring 21, is mounted around the female die 22. When the piercing-die 15 has passed through the sheets, the pressure of the lower end of the plunger 12 forces the platen 19 downwards till the portions of the sheets displaced by the die 15 are bent up against the sheets by the upper surface of the die 22. The appliance may be constructed to be operated in any suitable manner such as by a pair of levers pivoted together in the same manner as pliers. |
