12,699. Bellman, J. J., and Rittenhouse, C. T. June 7. Transformers.- The cores or magnetic fields are made up of unbroken plates or laminµ and the bobbins wound on the limbs or cores. Figs. 1 and 2 show one arrangement. The plates C are cut or mortised to give the desired shape, the core being approximately circular when built up. A sectional or divided spool, which may be of paper or sheet metal. is slipped on to the core. It preferably consists of a cylinder split or joined, if necessary with insulating-material, at I and J. Dividing-rings 7 are fitted on the cylinder. The spool may be supported on rollers R for winding on the coils 5 and 6 by turning by hand or otherwise.
